How long will I be in recovery after SmartLipo?
Dr. Kern: Most patients can go back to work in a day or two. You will continue to have swelling but we have tricks to hide your symptoms.

What are the risks of the SmartLipo surgery?
Dr. Kern: I will not use General or IV sedation due to the danger of side effects, etc.

When will I start to see results from my SmartLipo procedure?
Dr. Kern: Within a week you will start to see results; however you won't realize the full effect for at least 6 months.

How long do I have to wear the compression garment?
Dr. Kern: I like my patients to wear a compression garment for at least 4-5 weeks. Most of my patients find they are more comfortable wearing their garment.

I am nervous about anesthesia; I really do not want to be unconscious. Will I know what is going on during the SmartLipo procedure?
Dr. Kern: Only local anesthetic is used, you will be alert and awake.

Where will I be getting the SmartLipo procedure?
Dr. Kern: I perform my procedures in the Galleria office; however my team is working real hard to get the Katy office operable. Stay tuned!

How much does the SmartLipo procedure cost?
Dr. Kern: This is probably the most common question. I wish I had a black and white answer; however it does take you to come in for a complimentary consultation. I need to evaluate the areas to be treated to give accurate amounts.
